INTERNATIONAL DAY OF OLDER PERSONS
On October 1, 2025, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held an event dedicated to the International Day of Older Persons, which has been observed since 1990 at the initiative of the United Nations.
During the event, the Rector of the Institute congratulated mentors and staff members on this occasion, emphasizing the importance of showing respect to older people and recognizing their significant role in upbringing the younger generation in the spirit of unity, patriotism, and high moral values.
In a solemn atmosphere, memorable gifts were presented to mentors and staff members of the Institute by the Primary Organization of the Trade Union of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
On this day, the younger generation is once again reminded of how important it is to respect and honor old age. Today’s older people once gave us life, raised us, educated us, and shaped us into who we are now.
