A YOUTH TRAINING WAS HELD
On September 24–25, 2025, a youth training session on “Media and Information Literacy to Effectively Prevent and Counter Violent Extremism” was held at the OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe) Centre in Ashgabat. The main goal of the course was to raise awareness among young people about preventing violent extremism and radicalization that may lead to terrorism.
Students from Magtymguly Turkmen State University, the International University for the Humanities and Development, and the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan as well as representatives of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan and the National Red Crescent Society participated in the training session.
The training comprehensively addressed issues such as understanding the “do no harm” principle when covering events in the media, cooperation in information literacy, and ensuring sustainable information security against extremism. The program was conducted in a question-and-answer format, after which participants were awarded certificates.
