Training Session for Young Journalists
On April 29, 2026, a training session titled “Digital Storytelling, Ethics, Promoting Content on YouTube and Social Media Systems, and Integrating Artificial Intelligence into Media Work” was held at the “Carbon” education centre in Ashgabat. The event was organised by the Delegation of the European Union to Turkmenistan and was attended by professors and students of higher educational institutions and journalists from across the country.
The session was led by experts from Kazakhstan: Marat Sadykov, a specialist in mobile journalism; Gulim Amirkhanova, an expert in media literacy; and Aiganym Amirbekova, a YouTube specialist.
The curriculum included specialised lessons on critical thinking, working with digital platforms, fact-checking, and the effective application of artificial intelligence. Participants engaged in discussions regarding media literacy – a fundamental requirement in the modern era – as well as methods for verifying information accuracy and producing engaging content for news and events. Furthermore, presentations were delivered on the correct utilization of AI within mass media.
The regular organization of such training sessions is of significant importance for enhancing the expertise of students and professionals in the field of journalism. It supports their ability to utilize modern technologies and refine their skills in preparing reliable and impactful information.
