The New 20th Issue of the Newspaper “Voice of a Young Diplomat”
On November 30, 2021, the 8-page 20th issue of the newspaper “Voice of a Young Diplomat” was published. The newspaper is issued twice a month by the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. This issue of the newspaper, published in three languages, is distinguished by its content and new design. First, it should be noted that a special issue of our online newspaper is almost entirely devoted to the results of the 15th ECO Summit, held in Ashgabat under the chairmanship of Turkmenistan. The front page contains political reviews “Turkmenistan as a center of the ECO space”, “Successfully developing Turkmen-Turkish friendship”, commenting on the main events of November. They reflected political assessments not only of the historic 15th ECO Summit, but also of the business forum of the ECO member states, meetings of high-ranking officials, the 25th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the ECO member states, a briefing following the results of the Ashgabat Forum of the ECO, as well as the state visit of the President of the Republic of Turkey Rejep Tayyip Erdogan to Turkmenistan. The authors of these political articles, the continuation of which was published on the second page, are students of the Faculty of International Journalism of the Institute Sona Halykova and Gurbansahet Gurbansahedov.
The publicistic article “The Asian Phoenix Bird Spreads Its Wings” by the teacher of the Institute, publicist Tyachgeldi Gutlyev, posted on the second page of the “Voice of a Young Diplomat” newspaper, is distinguished by the fact that it reveals the meaning of the XV ECO Summit from a philosophical point of view. The article begins with the words: “Probably, there is no person who has not heard the legend of the peoples of Asia, or rather the peoples of the East, about the birth of the Phoenix bird. According to legend, burning in the flames emerging from her nest, the Phoenix is reborn from the ashes in the form of a beautiful bird. If you think about it, the fate of Asia is similar to that of this bird. Asia, on whose territory such civilizations of the world as Egypt, India, Margush existed for several millennia, in the Middle Ages, like the Phoenix bird turning into ash, fell into decay. Then, starting in the 19th and 20th centuries, the continent begins to flourish. The holding of the 15th ECO Summit in the history of ECO, the origins of which go back to the 1960s and then in the 1980s, the adoption of the historically significant documents “Perspective 2025”, and the current Summit of the Ashgabat Consensus for Action, have become truly important events. The author of the article, comparing these events with the history of the revival of the Phoenix bird, analyzes this idea and confirms its reliability on the basis of convincing facts. The article ends with the following words: “If we speak with a more artistic slogan, the 15th Summit went down in history like a loud roar of a lion on the Asian continent”, which serves as an assessment of the new stage of interstate relations in the space of the ECO member states.
On the third page of the newspaper, under the heading “Ashgabat meets guests”, an article was published, which begins with the words that “On November 28, the day of the foundation of the Economic Cooperation Organization, the attention of the world media was focused on the 15th ECO Summit, held in Ashgabat under the chairmanship of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov... This Summit and the events organized within its framework were attended by about 100 representatives of the mass media of the countries participating in the Organization. Representatives of the creative team of the Voice of a Young Diplomat newspaper of our Institute took part in the Summit, among 60 volunteers, who interviewed foreign delegates who shared their impressions of the Summit results and the splendor of the city of Ashgabat.”
The third page of our newspaper is entirely devoted to interviews of students of our Institute with representatives of foreign media, in particular, Seyli Ashyrov with a representative of the famous TV channel “PTV” of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Khan Arshad Mahmud, Meylis Sadykov with the operator of the information agency “Anadolu ajans” Mesut Tankulu, Orazmyrad Hemrayev with by Abass Fallah Farageh, correspondent for the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting News Agency of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
On the fourth page of the newspaper, the article “Turkmenistan – ECO: new horizons of cooperation” by the teacher of the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy of the Institute Altyn Magtymova and the publication “Vision-2025 of the ECO” by the student of the Faculty of International Relations Gulruh Geldiyeva found their rightful place. In addition, this page of the newspaper contains information about the territory, population, economy of the ECO member states, prepared by the student of the Institute Yupar Egirjayeva on the basis of Internet data.
On the fifth page of our newspaper, full of interesting data, information about important events, a roundtable discussion dedicated to the 15th ECO Summit was published in Russian. This material was prepared by the teacher of the Institute, Mahriban Gandymova. It reflects the views of the teachers of the Department of International Economic Relations Amanmyrat Myradov, Gulyalek Nuriyeva and Sulgun Nepesova, as well as students of the Department of International Relations Batyr Esenov and Arslan Syyahatov about the significance of the historical XV Summit of the ECO.
The 15th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization, held in Ashgabat under the chairmanship of the distinguished President, was widely covered not only in the mass media of the region, but throughout the world. On the 6th and 7th pages of the newspaper “Voice of a Young Diplomat” under the heading “15th Summit in the International Media Space”, most of the assessments of international news agencies are devoted to this Summit.
On the eighth page of the newspaper, under the heading “When the Muses Speak, the Cannons Are Silent”, there are magnificent works of famous poets of the ECO member countries.
