ACQUAINTANCE WITH THE TSUKUBA UNIVERSITY OF JAPAN
On October 14, 2025, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted an event organized for students of the School of National Diplomacy who study the Japanese language. The purpose of the meeting was to introduce them to one of Japan’s leading higher education institutions — the University of Tsukuba — and to present the distinctive features of its educational system.
During the meeting, Professor Yuji Kajiyama from the University of Tsukuba spoke about the study programs available for international students and the university’s cooperation with leading higher education institutions around the world. Professor Kohei Tanaka, a specialist in paleontology, gave a presentation on his scientific research and the paleontological studies he has been conducting in Turkmenistan related to the exploration of dinosaur fossils.
In addition, students and teachers of the Japanese language at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan took part in an engaging question-and-answer session with the Japanese professors.
