Fruit of hard work
From July 22 to 25, Moscow hosted the Forum of Finalists of the A.A. Gromyko-2024 CIS Young Internationalists Competition. This year more than 560 participants from 10 CIS countries took part in the competition. More than 50 participants representing leading universities, academic institutions, state authorities, public and business structures from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan made it to the finals.
Serdar Rahymov, a graduate of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, represented Turkmenistan at the forum of finalists. Serdar presented a scientific work on “The role of energy potential in the foreign policy strategy of the Caspian region states”. Traditionally, the working sections of the event were held at two main venues: The Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences and MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia. A.A.Gromyko, Director of the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences, A.A.Klimov, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs, A.V.Torkunov, Rector of MGIMO, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences, S.V.Malenko, Deputy Head of Presidential Directorate for Cross-Border Cooperation, S.V.Klimov, Head of the Department of Social Policy and Information Support of the Standing Committee of the Union State, and others addressed the participants of the event. The participants were also addressed by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Director of the Department of Information and Press of the Russian Foreign Ministry M.V. Zakharova, Rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus I.I. Buzovsky, Co-Chairman of the A.A.Gromyko Association of Foreign Policy Studies, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus S.K.Rakhmanov.
The Forum participants visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, where a meeting was held with A.V. Sternik, Director of the Third Department of CIS countries of MFA of RF.
During the event, the participants worked on analytical reports and presented the main theses and practical recommendations to colleagues and experts of the Foreign Policy Research Foundation.
As part of the cultural and educational program, an excursion to the Victory Museum was organized.
The organizers of the contest are the A.A. Gromyko Association of Foreign Policy Studies, MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences with the support of the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Standing Committee of the Union State, and the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus. The project is financed by a grant from the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation.
