A BRIEFING ON “THE PEOPLE’S COUNCIL OF TURKMENISTAN – A MODEL OF NATIONAL DEMOCRACY” WAS HELD
On August 28, 2025, a briefing entitled “The People’s Council of
Turkmenistan –A Model of National Democracy” was held at the Institute of
International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the
aim of promoting the decisions adopted at the meeting of the Presidium of the
People’s Council of Turkmenistan, chaired by the Chairman of the People’s
Council of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, on August 20, 2025, and
highlighting their significance. Teachers and students of Magtymguly Turkmen
State University, International University for the Humanities and
Development, and the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan took part in the briefing.
During the event, Myrat Haitov – Head of Department of the National Center of
Trade Unions of Turkmenistan, experienced teacher, scientist, Doctor of Law,
Professor, Honored Lawyer of Turkmenistan, and senior Lecturer at the
Department of International Law and Comparative Law Studies of the Institute of
International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Durli
Ballyeva, delivered speeches.
In the course of the briefing, detailed information was provided on the relevant
documents adopted at the meeting of the Presidium of the People’s Council of
Turkmenistan, based on the Constitutional Law of Turkmenistan “On the People’s
Council of Turkmenistan.” These documents concern the convening and high-level
organization of the meeting of the People’s Council, the determination of its date,
and the approval of the composition of the organizational committee.
