Meeting on the occasion of the 29th anniversary of Turkmenistan's accession to UN MEMBERSHIP
On March 1, 2021, on the occasion of the 29th anniversary of Turkmenistan's accession to the UN, a meeting with the participation of teachers, professors of the institute and students as well as the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for UNESCO of Turkmenistan, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassadors of the Republic of France, the Swiss Confederation and the Republic of Austria was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The participants of the meeting discussed about the glory, its position on International arena, and further strengthening of policy of permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan under the leadership of our esteemed President. It was noted that the international authority of Turkmenistan in the world is increasingly strengthening as a result of the policy of humanitarian, friendly international cooperation, based on positive neutrality, pursued by the National Leader.
At the meeting were discussed the development of positive and comprehensive cooperation with the United Nations as one of the main priorities of Turkmenistan's foreign policy. Our state was elected to a number of representative and decision-making structures of the United Nations. It was emphasized that by participating in the activities of these structures, Turkmenistan made its worthy contribution to improving the work of the United Nations, to joint efforts to find effective solutions, including discussing important issues of peace security and sustainable development in the world.
It was noted that at the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly in September 2019, all member states unanimously adopted the Resolution “2021 - International Year of Peace and Trust” initiated by Turkmenistan. The speakers stressed that the adoption of this Resolution is proof that the initiatives of the esteemed President arouse great interest among the members of the world community.
At the end of the ceremony, the participants noted the importance of the activities of our esteemed President to expand cooperation with the United Nations and wished dear Arkadag sound health, long life and further success in all his undertakings for the benefit of the people and the state.
