Youth Conference on Climate in Turkmenistan
Today, October 8, 2021, the Youth Conference on Climate in Turkmenistan was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
“Young people today have to deal with the consequences of our actions or inaction. For too long we have not listened to the voices of young people when discussing their future. Now we need to change the situation by establishing constructive interaction with young people. " So it was written in the Declaration for the 75th Anniversary of the United Nations.
Today, the world is home of the largest generation of young people connected to each other like never before. The Conference was organized by the United Nations in Turkmenistan, together with the British Embassy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, as well as other national partners.
The Youth Conference on Climate in Turkmenistan brought together representatives of the Youth Organization of the country, a group of SDG ambassadors in Turkmenistan and other young activists. The main goal of the Youth Conference was to provide an opportunity for Turkmen youth to discuss and present the key problems of climate change, as well as develop the actions necessary to solve them. The Forum has become a platform for the exchange of experience, knowledge, thoughts and ideas on strengthening global action to combat climate change.
