On April 14-15, 2025, a delegation from Turkmenistan consisting of heads of UNESCO Chairs and Clubs from the country, as well as a representative from the Secretariat of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO, paid a working visit to Almaty, Kazakhstan. The purpose of the visit was to gain insights from Kazakhstan’s extensive experience in managing UNESCO Chairs and the National Federation of UNESCO Clubs.
On the first day, April 14, the Turkmen delegation visited the first UNESCO Clubs established at “Дом школьников 6”, at the A.Kasteyev School of Art and Design, as well as the UNESCO Club “Tolerant” at the Faculty of International Relations of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. These meetings provided an opportunity for representatives from both countries to discuss potential areas of bilateral cooperation and share experiences.
On April 15, the leaders of Kazakhstan’s UNESCO Chairs met with their Turkmen counterparts to exchange knowledge about the work of their respective chairs and to discuss ways to improve and expand their activities. This meeting facilitated a productive dialogue on enhancing collaboration. Afterwards, the Turkmen delegation visited the Secretariat of the National Federation of UNESCO Clubs of Kazakhstan, established in Almaty in 2009. The Federation’s representatives shared their experience and invited the Turkmen delegation to actively participate in future projects organized by the Federation.
In turn, the Turkmen delegation presented the activities of UNESCO Clubs in Turkmenistan, which sparked significant interest among their Kazakh partners. This visit marks an important step in strengthening cooperation between the two countries within the framework of UNESCO.
The Turkmen delegation expresses sincere gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen People and the Esteemed President for the opportunity to learn from Kazakhstan’s extensive experience in managing UNESCO Chairs and the National Federation of UNESCO Clubs. May the National Leader of the Turkmen People Hero Arkadag and the Esteemed President Arkadagly Hero Serdar be granted long life, sound health and continued success in all their endeavors for the prosperity of the nation.
