TURKMENISTAN – WHO: SEMINAR ON JOINT WORK TO COMBAT TOBACCO USE
On May 26, 2026, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a training session titled “The Activities of Turkmenistan under the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control”. The event was organized by the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy and was conducted by Perhat Mahremov, a lecturer of the same Department.
During the seminar, the instructor highlighted the importance of Turkmenistan's accession to the World Health Organization Framework Convention on Tobacco Control and the activities being carried out under this convention. He also emphasized that Turkmenistan pays great attention to combating global threats such as drug addiction, smoking, and alcoholism, which negatively impact physical and mental health, and that planned and programmatic activities are underway in this area.
At the conclusion of the seminar, the students expressed their gratitude to the instructor for the informative presentation and asked questions on topics of interest. Holding such sessions regularly provides great opportunities for young specialists to further enhance their knowledge and practical experience.
