A ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION: “GREAT TURKMEN FIGURES IN WORLD LITERATURE” WAS HELD
On July 5, 2025, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a round table discussion, centered on the theme “Great Turkmen Figures in World Literature”, organized by the Department of World Languages of the Institute. It brought together teachers and students from the Institute, alongside representatives from the Magtymguly Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages.
Participants, at the round table discussion were presented several presentations highlighting the contributions of prominent Turkmen figures to world culture and the reflection of their works in global literature. Topics covered included the Persian literature and the works of Magtymguly Fragi, discussions on Turkmen authors in English literature, and the significant contributions of scholar Helga Kors Kegel to the translation and publication of Magtymguly Fragi's heritage in Spanish. And such interesting reports as "The Role of Bayram Khan in World Indian and Turkmen Literature", "The Mutual Influence of the Persian Literature and the Work of Turkmen Classics", "The Image of Kiyat Khan in the Russian Literature", "Arabic Literature and the Contribution of Turkmen Authors" and other significant topics were presented. The discussion was held in vibrant and insightful atmosphere. Participants asked questions, expressing great interest in the topics presented and received comprehensive and informative answers, deepening their understanding of the topics discussed.
Carrying out such events is of great importance for strengthening scientific bounds, exchanging experiences and expanding knowledge about the rich cultural heritage of Turkmenistan and its place in the global literary process.
