A Webinar Titled “The Turkmen Horse and the Art of World Horsemanship” was Held
On February 27, 2025, the UNESCO Club “Culture of Peace” organized a webinar titled “The Turkmen Horse and the Art of World Horsemanship” at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The event was attended via digital video communication by active members of UNESCO chairs and clubs from various higher educational institutions across the country.
During the webinar, speeches were delivered by Aygozel Ovezova, head of the UNESCO Club “Culture of Peace,” Hydyr Orazguliyev, a lecturer at the Aba Annayev International Equestrian Academy, Lale Berdiyeva, member of the UNESCO Club “Our Medicinal Plants – Our Health, Our Heritage” at Myrat Garriyev State University of Turkmenistan and Muhammet Suleymanov, a lecturer at the Department of Social Sciences at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The speakers emphasized the large-scale efforts undertaken under the leadership of the esteemed President to develop and promote Turkmen national culture and arts on an international level. They highlighted the importance of the national circus arts and the revival of the Turkmen State Circus in April 2010 under the initiative of Hero Arkadag. The discussion also focused on the achievements of the “Galkynysh” national equestrian performance group, which has significantly contributed to the country’s global reputation. Special attention was given to the group’s success at the International Circus Festival held in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
Additionally, the uniqueness of Turkmen Akhal-Teke horses and the positive effects of equestrian sports on human health were discussed in detail, supported by historical and scientific insights.
At the conclusion of the webinar, participants expressed their gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag, and the esteemed President for their unwavering support in developing equestrian sports.
