THE SEMINAR “ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION IS OUR DUTY”
On June 05, 2024, The Lecturers of the Department of world languages of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, held , a seminar on the topic “Environmental protection is our duty”, with the participation of students from the Faculty of International Journalism and the Faculty of International Relations, on the occasion of World Environment Day.
Organizers spoke on the purposes, time, place and organization of establishing the day(e.i. to draw attention of the World to environmental problems and stimulate activity for its protection; by the UN on December 15, 1972, at the Stockholm Conference in Sweden; the date of the annual celebration was set - June 5). In recent years, Day has turned into a global environmental information platform for the entire world community. Each year, the motto of the Day changes according specific issue concerned. And this year Day’s motto is “Our Land is our future”, concerning environmental problems such as restoring destroyed lands, halting desertification and building resilience to drought and others. In conclusion, the seminar participants expressed deep gratitude to Hero Arkadag and President of Turkmenistan, for their tireless work to benefit the Turkmen nation prosperity.
