On August 26–28, 2026, the International University for the Humanities and Development hosted a conference organized by the TESOL International Association in collaboration with the English Language Capacity Development Program, focusing on the theme “Technology, Teaching, and Transformation”.
Educators and language specialists from academic institutions across Turkmenistan attended the event. Participants engaged in dynamic sessions and presentations led by experienced educators and language teaching experts from both Turkmenistan and the United States.
Discussions covered a wide array of vital topics in modern pedagogy, including: The role of artificial intelligence and emerging digital tools in language education; Developing student confidence and real-world English communication skills; Empowering learners to use technology critically, responsibly, and creatively; Preparing language educators across diverse instructional contexts to advance global collaboration.
The program featured impactful presentations, such as “Building Interactional Competence with AI and EdTech: Real-Time Conversations, Real-World Impact”, “Using AI in English Language Teaching: Material Generation, Writing Assessment, and Speaking Practice”, “Unlocking Engagement: Shifting from Teacher-Led Instruction to Student-Centric Learning”, and “Designing Human-in-the-Lead Assessments for the Future”. Each session offered ample opportunities for Q&A and peer-to-peer exchange.
Organizing such high-level events is of immense value for the professional growth of educators and plays a pivotal role in strengthening the broader academic community.
