TRAINING SESSION DEDICATED TO ANTI-TOBACCO EFFORTS
On May 23, 2026, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a training session titled “The Significance of Turkmenistan’s Efforts in Combating Tobacco”. The event was organized by the “Young Diplomats” scientific club of the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy and was conducted by Rahym Akmuradow, a lecturer at the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy.
During the session, the instructor highlighted Turkmenistan's ongoing initiatives to expand tobacco-free zones. He also emphasized that following the adoption of the Law “On Protecting the Health of Citizens from the Effects of Tobacco Smoke and the Consequences of Tobacco Product Consumption” and the implementation of a comprehensive anti-tobacco program, Turkmenistan currently holds a leading position in this field within the WHO European Region.
At the conclusion of the session, the students expressed their gratitude to the instructor for the engaging presentation and asked questions on topics of interest. Holding such sessions regularly provides great opportunities for young specialists to further enhance their knowledge and practical experience.
