COURSE ON WATER DIPLOMACY
On March 16, 2023, the course on water diplomacy was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. It was organized by the Educational center for Priority Areas of Diplomacy of Turkmenistan. The course was conducted by Uzukjemal Pashshieva, an expert in the Department of Environmental Protection and Environmental Analysis of the Environmental Protection Service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan. During the course dedicated to the topic - “Water diplomacy of Turkmenistan: sustainable development and the Aral Sea”, the expert noted the importance of goal 6: clean water and sanitation of the SDGs - ensuring the availability and rational use of water resources and sanitation for all. In this regard, the expert talked on the efforts being made to reduce water pollution, eliminate waste dumping and minimize emissions of hazardous chemicals and materials, improve water quality and improve the ecological state of the Aral Sea.
The course was very effective for the students. During the course, students faced to the expert with several questions that interested them and expanded their knowledge in the field of water diplomacy.
