ONLINE SEMINAR CLASS ON WATER DIPLOMACY
On April 24, 2024, at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, regular seminar class on "Water Diplomacy" of the Training Center for Important Areas of Diplomacy of Turkmenistan was held. The class was conducted by A. Seyitbaev, a member of the Committee of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan on issues of environmental protection, nature consumption and agro-industrial complex, and the subject of it is “Climate change : the connection between environmental sustainability and peacekeeping”.
Our countries ratification of UN documents on biological diversity, combating desertification, climate change, protection of the ozone layer is a clear evidence that Turkmenistan takes an active part in solving the current global environmental problems .
In his speech, the representative of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan said that great deal of programs and projects are being implemented in this field at the national and regional levels together with international organizations, including the United Nations Development Program, the Environment Program, the Global Environment Facility and other organizations. He spoke about the national strategy, being successfully implemented in this field, in competence with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations and the important tasks for protecting the world's ecosystem.
This class has made great affect on students and was useful for acquiring a lot about water diplomacy.
