SEASONAL TRAINNG ON WATER DIPLOMACY COMPLETED
On June 20, 2024, the final training course of the 2nd semester of the 2023-2024 academic year was held at the Training Center for Important Areas of Diplomacy of Turkmenistan of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. Representatives from various United Nations agencies, lectures of the institute and students attended the conference. The event emphasized the critical importance of addressing the impact of climate change on water resources, which is a vital issue for the sustainability and future prosperity of the region and the role of the younger generation as key partners in the fight against climate change. This inspired young people of Turkmenistan to actively participate in projects to combat climate change, and provided an opportunity to discuss and resolve the main issues related to climate change affecting the nature of Turkmenistan. As is known, water diplomacy is one of the main directions of Turkmenistan's foreign policy. This has helped the students to increase their knowledge in the important areas of diplomacy and foreign policy. These courses were conducted on the basis of specially approved plans, and representatives of international organizations, specialists of ministries, departments and research institutions of the country, teachers of higher education institutions, and masters of our institute actively participated in the courses. As well as the accessibility of specialized theoretical knowledge on water diplomacy was made available to everyone and this became an important step towards empowering the new generation to actively participate in shaping a sustainable and viable future for their country and the world.
Special certificates were awarded to the students who actively participated in the training courses on "Water Diplomacy".
