INTERNATIONAL EXPERT CONDUCTS PRACTICAL SESSION ON WATER DIPLOMACY
On May 13, 2026, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a training session focused on "Water Diplomacy," organized by the Training Center for Priority Areas of Turkmen Diplomacy. The session was titled: "Introduction to International Experience in Water Diplomacy within the Central Asian Region."
The session was led by Ma Yuefeng, a scholar and the Deputy Dean of the Institute of Central Asian Studies at Northwest Normal University (Lanzhou, PRC). During the lecture, the Chinese expert provided a detailed overview of the primary challenges facing the region within the context of the political and economic situation, environmental policy, historical ties, and contemporary development trends in Central Asia.
In conclusion, Ma Yuefeng emphasized that his institute has served as one of the leading centers for studying the region's strategic issues for many years. He also highlighted the growing interest in the university from Turkmen, Kazakh, and Uzbek students in recent years. Students participating in the session engaged in a vibrant exchange of views with the expert and received comprehensive answers to their questions.
