CONFERENCE on “NATIONAL EXPERIENCE OF TRANSITION TO CIRCULAR ECONOMY"
On September 30, 2024, at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, a scientific-practical conference entitled “National Experience of Transition to Circular Economy" was held. The representatives of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, as well as the professors and teachers of the Turkmen State Institute of Finance, Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management, Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, as well as masters and students participated in this scientific-practical meeting.
Speakers at the conference made their speeches about the importance of transitioning to a circular economy. Our Hero Arkadag and Highly-Esteemed President set the main goal of bringing the economy of the country to the level of the developed countries of the world, as well as significantly improving the standard of living of the population.
Among the proposals set forth by the Turkmen delegation at the World Government Summit held in February 2024 has been proposed to develop a global framework program for transitioning to a circular economy based on the priorities of the sustainable development agenda for the period up to 2030. The work aimed at ensuring the sustainable economic development of our country fully meets the requirements of the zero-waste economy. Ecologically-advanced technologies are being implemented in all sectors of the economy. Particular attention is paid to the development of relevant innovative technologies related to the use of renewable energy sources and to the reduction of emissions.
At the end of the conference, the participants asked several questions, exchanging their views with each other, and international experts answered them through concrete examples.
