A two-day online seminar was organized by the OSCE
On October 27, 2021, a two-day online seminar on the “Legal aspects of dissemination of information in the digital age” was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The seminar was organized by the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat. Two international experts, Mr. Mamuka Andguladze (Georgia) and Mr. Wolfgang Kleinwaechter (Germany) carried out the two-day online event. The seminar was dedicated to modernizing national legislation regulating the dissemination of information in the digital age based on relevant international standards, OSCE commitments and best practices of other OSCE participating States. In the event participated the students of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Turkmen State university named after Magtymguly, International university of the Humanities and Development and the representatives of “Turkmenistan”, “Esger”, “Adalat”, “Nesil”, “Nebit we Gaz” newspapers.
During the seminar, the experts emphasized the importance of Internet Journalism on globalizing our world through expanding opportunities of mass media. They also gave impressive presentations about legal aspects of promoting media freedom, pluralism of media and free access to information. The experts concluded the event answering several interesting questions of the students.
