OUR NEUTRAL MOTHERLAND - OUR ETERNAL JOY
Joy and happiness is added to a life of the Turkmen people by approaching the days of celebration of the 28th anniversary of the Permanent Neutrality of our Beloved Motherland. If we look through the historical origin of the holiday of neutrality, then the following moments have become unforgettable days for us. The adoption of the United Nations General Assembly Resolution on "Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan" on December 12, 1995 opened a new page in the history of the United Nations. For the first time in the long history, the adoption of such a Resolution in international relations recognized the victory of Turkmenistan's peace-loving foreign policy at the world level, and raised the prestige of a state capable of contributing to global peace and security in the development of international relations.
The permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan is based on the continuous progress of the system of reasonable ideas, such as respecting the national traditions, language, and religion of the neighboring and distant peoples, especially achieving friendly cooperation in a peaceful life. According to the international scope of this system of concepts, we should note that the origin of Turkmenistan's neutrality was declared at the summit of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in July 1992 in Helsinki, the capital of Finland, and the content of positive neutrality with the direction of Turkmenistan's foreign policy.
Nowadays, the great initiatives proposed by our Honorable President, our Hero Arkadagly Serdar, in order to transform our country from an economic country to a powerful state, create large-scale conditions for effective reforms to be implemented. This is evidenced by the high progress achieved in the spheres of life, science, education, culture, and health care, as well as the huge works implemented and the achievements gained.
Until now 21 resolutions have been adopted by the representatives of Turkmenistan and the General Assembly of the United Nations. Three of them are related to the importance of preventive diplomacy in international relations. The legal status of permanent Neutrality of Independent Turkmenistan is an integral part of the system of national values. Permanent Neutrality is more clearly felt in the effective cooperation with all countries and major international organizations, and in the solutions of important issues of the present time, aimed at strengthening the stability and harmony in the society and ensuring global development in the region and the world.
Turkmenistan is recognized as a state that comprehensively and consistently fulfills international obligations in the field of humanitarian law. Our country expresses its readiness to active participation in the implementation of specific activities in the humanitarian system by confirming its commitment to the UN's important conventions on human rights and freedoms and other multilateral international instruments. The development of equal relations with different countries in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres, as well as the strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation with international organizations, including the United Nations and its constituent units, are important directions of the foreign policy of our country based on the permanent neutrality principles.
In line of these happy events, the Turkmen people got a news about that during the regular meeting of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Turkmenistan was unanimously elected as a member of the Population and Development Commission for 2024-2028. In addition, the good news about the Ahalteke equestrian art and horse decoration traditions have been included in the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO is a testimony of happiness of the Turkmen people.
As the initiator of all these good deeds we see the efforts of our dear President, who is in the interest of the development of our country at the international level. We wish every success for our Arkadagly Hero Serdar in the country's advantageous work!
