A NEW ROUND OF WATER DIPLOMACY TRAINING SESSION HAS STARTED
On December 13, 2023, another round of training session on water diplomacy started at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. Training session dedicated to the water diplomacy of our country are periodically organized and conducted by the Training Center for priority areas of diplomacy of Turkmenistan of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
A training session on the topic “Initiatives of the National Leader of the Turkmen people put forward at the VII World Water Forum and the UN Conference on Sustainable Development Rio+20” was conducted by Ayjan Omarova, a lecturer at the Department of International Law and Comparative Jurisprudence of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. During the training session, the importance of Turkmenistan’s initiatives on water issues at international forums, including the VII World Water Forum and the UN Conference on Sustainable Development Rio+20, was discussed in detail. The lecturer also introduced to students the structure of the World Water Council, which was created in 1996. The World Water Forum is a unique platform for multilateral exchange, discussion and cooperation on water issues, generating innovative ideas and know-how in this important area.
During the training session, several interesting questions and answers were exchanged between the experienced diplomat and students.
