Training Course on Water Diplomacy
On September 29, 2022, another round of training session on water diplomacy started at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan organized by the Training Center for the Priority Areas of Diplomacy of Turkmenistan. The training lecture was conducted by Magtymguly Akmyradov, counselor to the Department of International Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. This training lecture was held on the topic "Role of Water Diplomacy in Central Asia". During the course, the important UN agreements on nature protection, including biodiversity, azone layer protection, conventions on the protection and use of transboundary watercourses and international lakes, Ramsar on wetlands, and conventions on combating desertification were discussed in detail. During the lecture, several interesting questions and answers were exchanged between the experienced diplomat and students.
