A NEW CYCLE OF TRAINING COURSES ON WATER DIPLOMACY HAS STARTED
On October 2, 2024, the next cycle of courses on Water Diplomacy started at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The training session entitled “10th World Water Forum: Parliamentary Partnership in Creating a Legal Framework for Action to Combat Water Shortages, Ensure Safe Water Supply and Improve Welfare” was conducted by the deputy of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, member of the Committee of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan on Environmental Protection, Nature Management and Agro-Industrial Complex, candidate of agricultural sciences A. Seidibayev.
The session was attended by students of the Makhtumkuli Turkmen State University the International University for Humanities and Development, the Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov and the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the training, the deputy of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan made a report on issues related to water use, which were discussed at the meeting held from May 19 to 21 this year on the island of Bali, Republic of Indonesia, within the framework of the 10th World Water Forum, organized jointly by the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia and the Parliamentary Union. He also spoke in detail about the work being done to strengthen the legislative framework for action to combat water shortages in the country, strengthen parliamentary cooperation, establish reliable water supply, and unite international efforts to ensure global security and well-being in the field of water use and water supply. During the lesson, the teacher and students exchanged views on the issues under discussion.
