NOVRUZ HAS COME TO MY COUNTRY
In the Prosperous Epoch of the Powerful State, our native land, rapidly develops and changes day by day. Under the wise leadership of our esteemed President, our Fatherland is moving with great confidence and pride to the heights of development. In the year declared as “Turkmenistan – Homeland of Peace and Trust” each day of our people is filled with joyful celebrations.
With the arrival of spring, the Queen of the seasons, all nature comes to life. Novruz holiday, one of the most beautiful spring holidays in the world, fills our hearts with the best feelings. On the blessed Turkmen land, each season is distinguished by its unique and incomparable beauty. With the arrival of Novruz, the weather become warm and nature beautiful.
The word "Novruz" means a new day. This is the beginning of the new year. This corresponds to the time when night and day equals. For girls who keep their feelings and sweet dreams in their hearts, Novruz has a special magical power.
As is known, on September 30, 2009, with the support of 24 countries, Novruz was included in the list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of UNESCO. In February 2010, on the initiative of Turkmenistan, Turkey, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan at the 64th session of the UN General Assembly the Resolution was adopted on declaring March 21 of each year as the International Novruz Day.
In Novruz, tables are widely laid and families prepare Turkmen national dishes. In this regard, semeni is one of the most delicious meal of this holiday. After all, semeni is the main and obligatory dish at this holiday, a unique decoration of the festive table. Semeni is not only a table decoration, but also a sign of a bountiful harvest.
