CONDUCTED MEDIA LITERACY TRAINING
On September 29-30, 2024, a seminar on media litearacy for instructors was held at the Center of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Ashgabat. The seminar was organized jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the OSCE Office in Turkmenistan, and the State News Agency of Turkmenistan. Representatives of relevant institutions, media outlets, and university professors, including students and instructors of the Department of International Journalism of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, participated in the seminar.
As is well known, Turkmenistan is effectively developing mutually beneficial cooperation with the OSCE in the humanitarian field, particularly in the development of science and education systems. As part of this cooperation, training seminars, meetings, and competitions with national experts in relevant fields are regularly held. This training for media literacy for instructors is also aimed at improving the journalistic skills of national experts.
OSCE experts provided valuable advice on preparing journalistic materials on the subject and effectively utilizing online platforms. The seminar was conducted in an interactive format.
