SPIRITUAL CONVERGENCE OF CULTURES: JAPANESE AND CHINESE LANGUAGE DAY
On April 24, 2026, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a grand celebration of Japanese and Chinese Language Day as part of the "Languages – A Bouquet of Friendship" week. This event, filled with vibrant highlights, was designed to immerse students in the rich heritage of ancient Eastern civilizations and to further strengthen the bonds of international friendship through the prism of linguistic exchange.
As part of the festive program, a thematic exhibition allowed guests to connect with the unique history and national values of the Land of the Rising Sun. Presentations dedicated to the aesthetic beauty of cherry blossoms and the intricate details of traditional culinary arts drew significant admiration from the participants. Furthermore, students performed a live demonstration of the exquisite tea ceremony, unveiling the deep philosophy and historical significance of this ritual, which remains a cornerstone of the Japanese people's spiritual life.
Talented students of the Institute presented insightful multimedia reports on the achievements of modern Japanese science and education, as well as the linguistic nuances of the Japanese language. Intellectual competitions in calligraphy, kanji reading, and the masterful use of traditional chopsticks served as clear evidence of the high level of linguistic preparation and analytical skills possessed by these future diplomats.
One of the most emotionally resonant moments of the day was the artistic recitation of the famous poem "Of the Turkmen" by the great turkmen poet Magtymguly Pyragy in the Japanese language. This creative act became a vivid symbol of the spiritual kinship and high mutual respect shared by the two friendly nations. The cultural program concluded with an inspired performance of the folk song "Sakura," lending the celebration a unique atmosphere of solemnity and aesthetic delight.
At the conclusion of the "Languages – A Bouquet of Friendship" week, a final awards ceremony was held, where students who demonstrated exceptional activity, dedication, and profound knowledge in their foreign language studies were honored with souvenirs in a formal setting.
