Webinar on Prevention of Domestic Violence and Criminalization
On September 7-8, 2021, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) held an online seminar on the topic “Prevention and Criminalization of Domestic Violence” in Ashgabat. The two-day online seminar was attended by representatives of the headquarters of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Ashgabat and the Institute of State, Law and Democracy of Turkmenistan, as well as foreign countries.
During the seminar, representatives of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ukrainian state shared their experience on the system of protection against domestic violence and its subjects at the national and international levels, as well as on the main stages of developing a legal framework for the prevention of domestic violence.
With the help of presentations, the participants of the seminar also got acquainted with the experience of the Republic of Bulgaria, which maintains friendly relations with our state in this area. Shemshat Atajanova, representative of the Institute of State, Law and Democracy of Turkmenistan, made a presentation on the work carried out by the NGO Keik Okara in our country to combat domestic violence. Participants in the online seminar further improved their knowledge and experience in this area by exchanging questions and answers on topical issues.
