A ROUND TABLE CONFERENCE ON THE CREATIVE HERITAGE OF MAGTYMGULY FRAGHI: CULTURAL AND HUMANITARIAN ASPECTS
On March 27, 2024, a round table conference entitled "Creative heritage of Magtymguly Fragi: cultural and humanitarian aspects" was held in honor of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great poet Magtymguly Fragi and thinker of the Turkmen people, organized by V.N. Tatishev Astrakhan State University of the Russian Federation.
As is known, on October 11, 2023, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Astrakhan State University named after V.N. Tatishev of the Russian Federation. Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Astrakhan Region, representatives of the Consulate of Turkmenistan in Astrakhan, professors and students of Astrakhan State University named after V.N. Tatishev, Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Magtymguly Turkmen State University and Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov participated in this conference.
At the beginning of the conference, vice-rector of Astrakhan State University named after V.N. Tatishev Angelina Gennadyevna Fadin noted the friendly relations between the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan, the poetry of Magtymguly Fragi, and the importance of studying the wise poet of the Turkmen people. In his speech, Rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, candidate of historical sciences, J. Gurbangeldiyev emphasized the Turkmen-Russian relations during the time of Magtymguly Fragi, the scientific research carried out by Russian scientists on the territory of Turkmenistan in the 18th century, and the Turkmen tribes living in Astrakhan as well as he also made an interesting point about the relationship between them and our country.
During the conference, the history of Turkmen-Russian relations and today's intellectual creativity of Magtymguly Pyragy, the recognition of the philosopher's poems as a universal value, the scholars and writers who translated the poems of Magtymguly Fragi into Russian were discussed in detail. In addition, within the framework of the round table conference the participants exchanged ideas on the areas of interest. The participants of the conference meeting emphasized the importance of further development of cooperation between the Astrakhan State University named after V.N. Tatishev of the Russian Federation and higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan.
