INTERESTING EXCURSIONS TO THE INFORMATION WORLD
During the official visit of the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation from November 1 to 3, lecturers of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan were given the opportune ity to visit the Information Agency TASS and the Department of Information and Press of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
During the visit, the representative of TASS told about its history, leaders, architectural features and activities. As you know, on December 12, 2020, the State Information Agency of Turkmenistan and the Information Agency of Russia TASS signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on Information Exchange. The memorandum is aimed at expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of information exchange, development of friendly relations between the two countries and exchange of mutual experience. On September 1 of this year, the leading state news agency of Russia, TASS, marked its 118th anniversary. TASS has 58 offices in 55 countries around the world.
The Department of Information and Press of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation is a structural division of the central apparatus of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is responsible for the information support of the foreign policy of the Federation, and carries out the development of issues of international cooperation in the field of information. There we learned about the features of the department's work, methodological principles and features of its work from the point of view of digitization.
