A representative of the institute took part in the training program on the occasion of the International Day of Peace
From September 18 to 24, 2024, the head of the department of international law and comparative law at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, senior lecturer Durly Ballyeva took part in the People's Republic of China in a conference on the occasion of the International Day of Peace entitled “Towards peace and security of the countries of Eurasia.”
The training program was organized by CPAPD, the Association for Peace and Disarmament, and was attended by representatives from more than 80 countries. The main opening ceremony of the event was held in Shandong, China, and was opened by CPPD President Ma Biao and General Secretary An Yuejun. The event began with an opening speech by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. It was emphasized that peace and security plays an important role in the development of peaceful, reliable, friendly and mutually beneficial relations between the countries of the world, declared and implemented by member states of the United Nations, and contributes to the strengthening of international peace and security at the regional and global levels. Also during the event, all UN member states, UN agencies and other international, regional and interregional organizations are encouraged to promote a culture of peace and trust, resolve disputes peacefully, and use the capabilities of neutral states to prevent and manage conflicts, are advised to take full advantage this. An exhibition of national works of the Chinese people was organized especially for the conference participants, as well as a festive concert, which added to the significance of the event.
The CPAPD Association was founded in June 1985 by various major organizations and eminent personalities from different walks of life and is considered the largest non-governmental association in the world. CPAPD has also been awarded the UN Peace Correspondent Award, and the People's Republic of China Association for Peace and Disarmament (CPAPD) is a national organization supporting world peace and disarmament.
The goals of the CPAPD are to promote understanding, friendship and cooperation among the rest of the world by promoting world peace, combating arms and war, and achieving disarmament and universal prohibition. It is also about achieving the complete elimination of weapons of mass destruction, environmental protection, social harmony and sustainable development.
CPAPD collaborates and exchanges information with more than 300 non-governmental organizations and research institutions in approximately 100 countries and actively participates in the multilateral activities of international non-governmental organizations. He also conducts academic research and analysis with a wide range of relevant scholars and experts, with a particular focus on disarmament, non-proliferation, peace, security and sustainable development. Bilateral or multilateral training seminars and meetings are held regularly.
CPAPD, an association dedicated to peace education, environmental protection and poverty eradication, has been the main sponsor of the annual national event of the UN International Science and Peace Week since 1989 and supports various public projects such as the construction of a peace park, Peace Primary School in various regions launched a tree planting program to combat desertification.
As you know, Turkmenistan has been promoting a number of important initiatives for many years within the framework of cooperation with the UN and its specialized bodies and institutions. This event will encourage Turkmenistan to begin discussing opportunities for the development of peace and security, taking into account important situations and trends in global development, based on the principles of the UN Charter and generally recognized norms of international law.
