Presentation of the book “My White City Ashgabat” by the President of Turkmenistan published in Turkish
On October 14, 2021, the Institute of International Relations hosted a presentation ceremony of the book “My White City Ashgabat” by the President of Turkmenistan, which was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Turkmenistan Togan Oral, representatives of the scientific centers and universities of the Republic of Turkey, the teaching staff and students of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and other higher educational institutions of the country as well as representatives of the media of our country attended the presentation ceremony.
During the ceremony, the content, scientific and educational significance of the book presented by the President to the people on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the capital city Ashgabat was discussed.
At the presentation, Rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Doctor J. Gurbangeldiyev noted that the publication of the book by esteemed President is of great significance for the development of Turkmen-Turkish relations. He also stressed that this valuable book in Turkish will become a guide for students majoring in international studies and will serve as a major source of research.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Turkmenistan Togan Oral said that the President’s book “My White City Ashgabat” published in Turkish would be of great help in finding an opportunity to get closer and further develop brotherly relations between the two countries. In addition, the diplomat stressed that Ashgabat and Ankara are sister cities.
In his speech Head of the Ankara Crisis and Policy Research Center (ANKASAM) Professor Mehmet Seyfettin Erol emphasized that Ashgabat, being one of the most beautiful cities in the region and the world, is a peace-making and reconciling center. Moreover, he noted that the esteemed President of Turkmenistan, a main architect of the beautiful city of Ashgabat, is a leader who promotes peace and prosperity in the region and beyond.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Turkey I. Amanliyev, Associate Professor, Lecturer of the Department of Dialects and Literature of the Faculty of Language, History and Geography of Ankara University B. Sariyev, Lecturer of the Haji Bayram Veli University of Turkey Dr. Emrah Yilmaz joined the presentation ceremony via video communication and made their speeches. They noted that the value of the book is reflected in the implementation of the urban development program, especially as a symbolic reflection of the centuries-old building art of the Turkmen people.
Rector of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction P. Orazov, Vice-Rector of the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammet Azadi M. Chariyev, Editor-in-chief of the Ashgabat Newspaper A. Mammadov, Editor-in-chief of the Vatan Newspaper T. Kakayeva also made speeches. Batyr Orazov, first-year student of the Faculty of International Journalism of the Institute delivered an Address to the President on behalf of the participants of the presentation ceremony.
The translation and publication of the book by our esteemed President opened a new page in the history of Turkmen-Turkish relations. At present, the Turkmen and Turkish peoples demonstrate their commitment to spiritual and moral values of humanity and brotherly relations between the two nations.
The Turkmen-Turkish friendship and brotherhood, based on the principles of goodwill and humanity, will further strengthen and expand in all areas through the joint efforts of the two fraternal peoples with the same historical roots.
At the end of the presentation, the participants wished esteemed President long life, strong health and success in all his undertakings.
May good and friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Turkey further prosper!
