AN EFFECTIVE TRAINING SEMINAR AT THE INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS OF THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF TURKMENISTAN
On February 27-28, 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan organized the UN Office on Drugs and Crime Prevention (UNODC) in cooperation with the Project: Safe Migration in Central Asia funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). A training seminar on ethical promotion of issues related to global threats (migration security, drug use prevention and human trafficking) was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan within the framework of the Central Asia Program 2022-2025. The seminar, organized at the highest level, was attended by journalists from the country's mass media, bloggers from official websites, students and teachers of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, students and teachers of the International University of Humanities and Development. International experts such as Saida Suleymanova from Uzbekistan and Zhandos Aktaev from Kazakhstan conducted the training seminar through a digital network. The main objective of the training seminar was to increase knowledge in the field of migration safety, prevention of drug use and human trafficking, as well as to improve the skills of national experts in the field of journalism in the area of ethical advocacy. During the course, international experts gave the participants of the seminar a comprehensive understanding of media ethics, international principles of ethics, ethics of journalists and bloggers in news broadcasting as examples of global experience.
