PUBLIC DEBATE TOURNAMENT: CELEBRATING INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
On March 10, 2025, a public debate tournament dedicated to
International Womens Day was held at the Institute of International
Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The event was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of the European Union to Turkmenistan, Ms. Beata
Peksa, and debate teams as well as numerous spectators.
The jury consisted of experts from the Institute of State, Law, and
Democracy of Turkmenistan, as well as representatives of international
organizations accredited in Turkmenistan. Their task was not only to
assess the strength of the participants' arguments but also to note their
discourse culture, logical thinking, and ability to convey their point of
view to the audience. Two teams participated in this debate —
representatives of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the International University for
the Humanities and Development of Turkmenistan. Each team consisted
of three students who were ready to demonstrate the depth of their
knowledge and oratory skills.
The students showcased their ability to present convincing
arguments, analyze situations from different points of view, and seek
compromises as well. Each speech turned into a lively discussion filled
with facts, logic, and a striving for fairness.
By the decision of the jury, it was announced that the winner of the
public debate tournament was the team of the Institute of International
Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. All
participants of the tournament were awarded with valuable gifts.
