STRENGTHENING INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
As is known, on May 22-23, 2021, Turkey Ankara for Crisis and Policy Research Center (ANKASAM) organized an international conference via video under the tittle “Growing Asian Geopolitics”. The conference was attended by 83 participants from 26 countries, professors and doctors from reputable higher educational institutions and representatives of TURKSOY and other international organizations, as well as Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Gulshat Yusupova, and Senior Lecturer of the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy of the Institute of International Relations, Dr. Begench Karayev.
At the online conference the participants discussed the role of two major regional systems in Asian geopolitics, the growing Central Asia and the role of Afghanistan-Pakistan as well as global issues in the political geography of the region. Turkmenistan plays an important role in the Central Asian region. This is clearly evidenced by the establishment of the United Nations Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia in Ashgabat. Following the conference, a letter of gratitude and a certificate were delivered to Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan for participation and contribution as a speaker in the international conference.
