Roundtable discussion was organized by the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with participation of scientists from the Russian Federation and Central Asia
On November 6, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan organized a roundtable discussion with participation of politicians, leaders and lecturers of specialized universities of our country, the Russian Federation and the countries of the Central Asian region.
The event was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality and was held in the form of a video conference. The participants noted unique opportunities and positive role of Turkmenistan's neutrality in ensuring global sustainable development.
At present, Turkmenistan's peace-building constructive international initiatives at addressing global, including political, economic and humanitarian issues are of particular interest in the world.
Some of the speeches were dedicated to the development of multilateral relations between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation. The speakers stressed the high level of interstate dialogue based on the principles of mutual respect, constructive and strategic cooperation. Special attention was paid to the issues of Turkmen-Russian relations in the field of science and education.
In particular, on October 2, 2017, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
Suggestions on student exchanges and development of cooperation on improving the professionalism of lecturers were also made.
The parties also stressed the need to continue fruitful cooperation in the teaching of reflection of scientific works and articles, which include topical issues of interstate relations, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
