International day of education
On December 3, 2018, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution declaring January 24 as the International Day of Education. Every year on January 24, in the world the International Day of Education is celebrated. The resolution dated December 3, is pointed the importance of the role of education in shaping a sustainable society and the promotion of education in achieving the SDGs. Responsibility for these events to celebrate the International Day of Education lies on UNESCO as the specialized agency of the United Nations dealing with education.
By proclaiming this Day, Member States noted the importance of taking steps to ensure inclusive and equal quality education at all levels, which would help people acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to participate in society and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
In this year 2023, the fifth International Day of Education, under the motto “Invest in people, prioritize education”, aims to call for active mobilization around education, and turn commitments and global initiatives into action.
In the modern era of “Revival of a new era of a powerful state”, large-scale work is being carried out in the field of national education in Turkmenistan. “Getting an education, mastering a profession is a centuries-old principle of the life of the Turkmen people, convinced that science and education are a source of happiness and prosperity. That is why, in the era of power and happiness, we attach special importance to the consistent improvement of the education system and science as a creative force of society,” emphasizes in his message, the Leader of the Nation of Turkmenistan, wishing the young generation of Turkmen citizens success in their studies, and teachers in their noble deeds in the name of the further prosperity of our Motherland.
In Turkmenistan, in all educational institutions for youth, all conditions for intellectual and physical development are provided, all of them are equipped with modern technologies. All ongoing works have a great importance in investing in the prosperity of the future world and our Motherland.
