A Consonance of Poetry and Memory
On October 16, 2025, a literary and creative event dedicated to the life and rich legacy of Gurbannazar Ezizov, the national writer, poet, and playwright of Turkmenistan, was held. The event was initiated by the youth creative association «Young Journalists» and the editorial board of the online newspaper «The Voice of Young Diplomat» of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The event brought together people sincerely devoted to words and literature. Among the guests of honor were Atageldy Garyagdyev, People’s Artist of Turkmenistan, as well as the poet’s eldest daughter Yagul Ezizova, together with lecturers and students of the Institute.
During the event, participants noted Gurbannazar Ezizov’s enormous contribution to the development of national literature, emphasizing his talent as a profound thinker and master of poetic expression. His works, imbued with the light of patriotism, love for the Motherland, and respect for the spiritual values of the people, occupy a special place in the treasure trove of Turkmen literature.
The warm atmosphere of the meeting was enhanced by memories of the poet, reciting of his poems, and performances of musical works based on his verses. Particularly impressive was the performance of the People’s Artist of Turkmenistan Atageldy Garyagdyev, who sang songs composed by the renowned musician Nury Halmamedov.
The sound of poetry and music created a unique harmony, bringing to life the images, thoughts, and feelings of the great poet. Participants expressed their sincere gratitude to the organizers for the opportunity to experience the spiritual world of a creator whose works continue to inspire the younger generation of journalists and diplomats.
At the conclusion of the creative meeting, the participants expressed their deep gratitude and appreciation to our esteemed Hero Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar, who provide the younger generation with ample opportunities to study in depth the works of individuals who have left an indelible mark on the Turkmen literature.
