The national football team of Turkmenistan hosted the Hong Kong team
On June 11, 2024, the final match of Group “E” of the qualifying round of the “2026 World Cup” and “2027 Asian Cup” took place at the capital’s multifunctional stadium “Ashgabat”. The national football team of Turkmenistan hosted the Hong Kong team. It was attended by football fans, numerous guests, students of higher educational institutions of the country, including the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
At the match, Turkmen football players appeared in white uniforms, and the guests wore red uniforms. The panel of judges, led by FIFA referee Abo Yehia Hussein, judged the match fairly. The Lebanese referee was assisted by his compatriots - assistant referees Omeirat Rabih and Mokdad Ali.
The meeting match out to be very interesting and exciting. Neither team managed to score a goal during the match. Thus, the match ended in a draw.
