Members of the Volunteer Media Team Demonstrated Active Engagement at the Football Match
On February 11, 2026, our country's champion team, “Arkadag”, which is steadily gaining recognition on the international stage, hosted Saudi Arabia's “Al-Nassr” in the 1/8 final stage of the AFC Champions League II. This important match, which became one of the significant historical events of this year, was held at the Olympic Stadium in our capital.
Covering sporting events of international scale requires great responsibility. Therefore, our Hero Arkadag gave important instructions to ensure that the international football match would be organized at the highest level, that its promotional activities would be properly arranged, and that all necessary efforts would be made to enable the mass media of countries around the world to work effectively. Based on this, it is a matter of pride to note that members of a volunteer media team, consisting of students studying journalism at our country's higher educational institutions, actively participated in the football celebration. During the match, they prepared interviews, reports, news items, and articles, widely highlighting the historical significance of the event through mass media outlets.
This initiative provides young journalists not only with theoretical knowledge but also with the opportunity to develop practical professional skills in accordance with international standards. Members of the student media team emphasize that covering such a major international sporting event has been one of the most memorable moments of their professional paths. Thus, talented youth once again demonstrated that, by applying modern methods of journalism, they are ready in the future to raise the sports journalism of Turkmenistan to new heights.
This match between Turkmenistan's “Arkadag” and Saudi Arabia's “Al-Nassr” football teams showed that football is not only a game but also a major cultural event. The skill displayed by the players during the match revealed the true beauty of football. The “Arkadag” – “Al-Nassr” game ended with a score of 0:1.
