Melody of the Dutar – the Music of Peace
On February 14, 2022, the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management hosted a solemn event, organized jointly by the Central Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan, the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO, the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, dedicated to the inclusion of the crafts of making dutar, performing musical art on it and the art of bakhshi in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
It was attended by the representatives, faculty and students of the above-mentioned institutions.
During the meeting, a volunteer of the Secretariat of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO, student of the Faculty of International Relations of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Jemal Rematullayeva, chief specialist of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly Hoshgeldi Annageldiyev, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages of the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management Atamyrat Garayev, lecturer of the Department of Social Sciences Jemal Orazgeldiyeva and lecturer of the Department of Economics and Law Kerim Dovletov delivered speeches.
They discussed the proposal of the esteemed President to call the future period of the development of the country “Revival of a new era of the state”, taking into account the high goals, the importance of preserving, collecting, studying and popularizing the priceless heritage of our national culture. The speakers also noted about the congratulations of the esteemed President to the Turkmen people on the inclusion of the craft of making dutar, performing musical art on it and the art of bakhshi in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in the historical speech by the President of Turkmenistan at the recent session of the People’s Council of the National Council of Turkmenistan.
They also emphasized that, based on the exemplary school of the esteemed President to strengthen the international prestige and dignity of our national heritage, great achievements are facing young people in the future.
During the solemn event, music was performed with great enthusiasm and high skill by the musical group Hazyna of the Institute, which made a great impression on the participants.
At the end of the event, the participants expressed their gratitude to our Hero Arkadag for his efforts aimed to preserve the national heritage of the Turkmen people and promote them worldwide.
