Competition Promotes Environmental Awareness Among Youth in Turkmenistan
On October 4, 2024, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan together with the Nature Protection Society of
Turkmenistan organized an art competition entitled “Youth and Nature: Opportunities
for Youth in the Protection of Nature of Turkmenistan”. The event aimed to highlight
the importance of environmental initiatives and the role of youth in promoting
ecological prosperity.
During the competition, participants discussed the necessity of implementing
measures to advance Turkmenistan's environmental initiatives and foster effective
partnerships with foreign institutions. The students demonstrated their understanding of
these topics by answering the jury's questions in both Russian and English. They
emphasized that ensuring environmental safety is one of the key directions of the state
policy, pursued under the wise leadership of our esteemed President Serdar
Berdimuhamedov, who paves the way for new opportunities in nature conservation.
Regularly organizing such contests within the framework of the "Fount of
Wisdom – Magtymguly Fragi" will contribute to the education of patriotic sentiments
and improve the country's environmental prosperity. The second-year students of the
institute delivered impressive performances, and outstanding participants were awarded
certificates of honor and souvenirs from the Nature Protection Society of Turkmenistan.
This initiative not only promotes artistic expression, but also serves as a vital
platform for raising awareness of environmental issues, inspiring the next generation to
take an active role in protecting their natural heritage.
