Sport events dedicated to International Neutrality Day
Under the leadership of our esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality and the “International day of Neutrality” are widely celebrated each year. Neutrality Day in Turkmenistan is the country’s the second most important national holiday, trailing only Independence Day. On December 12, 1995, a rare UN General Assembly resolution was adopted in support of the neutrality of Turkmenistan as a means of ensuring regional security and peace. During this celebration period, it turned out the custom to organize diverse kind of events, competitions and tournaments. This year from the 9th to the 10th of December volleyball competition and chess tournament held on the occasion of the “International day of Neutrality” among the members of local and foreign diplomatic service, as well as international organizations.
The tournaments took place at the sports complex of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. According to the results of the volleyball competition, Embassy of the Russian Federation got the 3rd place, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan got the 2nd place and Embassy of the United States of America took the 1st place. In the chess tournament, Atadurdy Bayramov got the 3rd place, Chingiz Kakenov got the 2nd place and Kuvvat Reyimberdiyev got the honorable 1st place. The teams and participants who took prizes were awarded with Certificates of Honour and gifts.
Taking this opportunity, we wish all the best to our National Leader, honorable President, and we welcome all the participants at the exhibitions and international conference, which will be organized at the main building of the National school of Turkmen Diplomacy.
