Short-Term Training Courses on Diplomatic Protocol Launched
On February 2, 2026, short-term training courses were organized at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan within the framework of the specialized training center entitled “Diplomatic Protocol” .The courses are designed for diplomats and specialists working in the foreign affairs service of the country, as well as in diplomatic missions, consular offices, and permanent missions to international organizations abroad.
The training courses covered diplomatic protocol and its fundamentals, state protocol, and the specific features of the country's protocol service, as well as the norms of international courtesy and etiquette. Particular attention was paid to the organization of visits and international events, and to Turkmenistan's policy of neutrality and its significant role in international relations.
The training courses were conducted by experienced diplomats with many years of service in the country’s diplomatic corps, as well as by professors and lecturers of the institute. The courses will continue until February 12, 2026, and are aimed at further enhancing the young specialists’ knowledge of diplomatic protocol.
It should be noted that at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan held on January 16, 2026, a strategy for modernizing the Protocol Service was presented. Within the framework of this initiative, measures are envisaged to systematically enhance and preparedness of specialists who represent the country on international level.
As is known, in 2026 - the year of major summits and high-level visits - marks the period when the impeccable work of the Protocol Service becomes a key condition for the effectiveness of negotiations. In this regard, our Honorable President noted that our country's foreign policy is aimed at promoting common prosperity; therefore, each visit should be organized as a finely tuned instrument that combines respect for partners with a clear a clear display of national pride.
The participants in the training courses organized within the framework of the the specialized training center "Diplomatic Protocol" at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, expressed their sincere gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero Arkadag, for providing favorable conditions and ample opportunities to enhance their professional skills, aimed at further strengthening the international standing of our independent, neutral Motherland.
