LANGUAGES – A BOUQUET OF FRIENDSHIP
On April 20, 2026, the opening ceremony of the “Languages – A Bouquet of Friendship” Language Week, organized by the Department of World Languages, took place at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. Attended by the institute’s faculty and students, the event focused on the vital role of language learning and intercultural dialogue in the field of international relations. During the opening ceremony, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Gaigysyz Dovletov delivered a welcoming speech, emphasizing the significance of world languages in strengthening friendly ties and wishing all participants success in their endeavors.
The inaugural day of the language week was dedicated to the Russian language, featuring a program rich in diverse and engaging activities. During the event, presentations highlighted the importance of the Russian language in international cooperation and diplomacy. Students showcased their linguistic talents by reciting masterpieces of world-renowned Russian literature. Furthermore, traditional Russian dance and musical performances added a vibrant cultural flair to the celebration.
In addition to the performances, a Q&A competition on Russian language and literature was held among the students. This dynamic contest provided an opportunity for participants to demonstrate their intellectual capabilities and passion for language learning. Attendees gained valuable insights into the rich cultural heritage and the contemporary role of the Russian language in the global arena. The “Languages – A Bouquet of Friendship” Week will continue with events dedicated to other languages in the coming days.
