Regulations for the International Competition
“Dialogue is a Guarantee of Peace.
New Philosophy of International Relations”
On December 11, 2021, Ashgabat hosted the International Conference “Policy of Peace and Trust – Basis of International Security, Stability and Development”. At the International Forum of Peace and Trust, the President of Turkmenistan came up with an important initiative to promote a new philosophy of international relations in terms of coordinated joint activities to strengthen peace, security and stability and to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. The National Leader called this philosophy “Dialogue is a guarantee of peace.” This philosophy aims to unite the efforts of the international community to strengthen the traditions of coexistence of the peoples of the world based on peace and trust and to establish a culture of peace and trust in international relations.
The participants of the Forum were recommended to make full use of the capabilities of neutral states in promoting a culture of peace and trust, settling disputes peacefully, preventing and resolving conflicts.
Thus, in order to deepen the understanding of young people of such values as peace, trust, awareness, openness, inclusiveness and mutual respect, based on the need to form appropriate mechanisms to ensure their participation in the promotion of a culture of peace, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan announces an international competition titled “Dialogue is the guarantee of peace. A New Philosophy of International Relations”. The competition is to be held among undergraduate, graduate students and young teachers of higher educational institutions of the country and the CIS member states.
I. General provisions
The Regulation determines the goals, objectives, procedure and conditions for the competition.
The main objectives of the competition are:
to promote in the world a new philosophy of international relations in the new geopolitical conditions of the third millennium, in a period of exacerbation of military-strategic confrontation in the world, expansion and growth of the scope of conflicts, resulting in unpredictable events in the world, becoming more unstable, and as a result, aggravating the decision tasks of general development, in particular, general stability, disarmament, implementation of environmental plans;
to achieve understanding by young people of the need to solve universal human issues, first of all, to revive the culture of mutual trust in unity, with the participation of all members of the UN;
to achieve the commitment of all states to generally accepted norms of international law and to establish a culture of interaction;
to enrich the culture of peace, not only at the national level, but at the expense of the potential of the diplomatic traditions of other states seeking to contribute to the cause of peace;
to introduce new approaches to the basic foundations of international relations;
to introduce young people the idea that only person himself can overcome the difficulties created by him;
to expand international scientific and cultural relations.
II. Competition procedure
The competition is open to undergraduate students and graduate students, young teachers of higher educational institutions of our country and the CIS member states, as well as to researchers not older than 30 years old, with their own or co-authored, previously unpublished, scientific articles in Turkmen, Russian and English languages.
Those wishing to take part in the competition should submit scientific articles by September 1, 2020 to the email address hgi.hgddek@online.tm.
Articles should be from 5 to 10 pages, font – “Times New Roman”; space – 1.5, size 14.
All information about the competition will be posted on the website of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan (www.iirmfa.edu.tm) and on the digital educational portal (iirmfa.nesil.edu.tm).
The winners of the competition will be determined by the Organizing Committee based on the decision of the jury members.
At the competition of scientific works, three prizes will be determined, the winners will be awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The scientific articles of the winners will be recommended to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan for publication in the journal “Foreign Policy and Diplomacy of Turkmenistan”.
Articles submitted for the competition will be posted on the website of the Institute (www.iirmfa.edu.tm) and on the digital education portal (iirmfa.nesil.edu.tm).
The winners of the competition (I, II, III places) will be solemnly awarded on October 1, 2022.
