We are all witness the fact that our country, which is recognized as a permanently neutral State by the resolution of the UN General Assembly, is highly respected on the planet. Indeed, in the era of might and happiness, the healthcare sector of our country has been brought to the international level owing to the successful implementation of the tasks of the Health Program developed under the leadership of our Hero Arkadag. For nearly 30 years since becoming a member of the World Health Organization, our country has established itself as a state that has been implementing grandiose tasks to bring the national health care system in line with international standards, apply international norms in medicine and treat various diseases and prevent them. Our state consistently contributes to all the initiatives of UN in spreading healthy lifestyle principles. Our country celebrates World Health Day and World Bicycle Day with mass activities. The proclamation of 31st of May as World no Tobacco Day helps in supporting the healthy lifestyle principles.
Millions of people live with lung illnesses, tuberculosis, asthma or other related ailments because of tobacco. The General Director of WHO, doctor Tedros Adhanom Gebrees says: “More than 8 million people pass away because of tobacco each year. Healthy lungs are important for healthy life. You can protect yourself, your friends and your family by saying “No” to tobacco!”
According to the information of 2017, 3,3 million people who use tobacco and who are exposed to its smoke die each year. Among them 1,5 million people from chronic lung and respiratory tracts illness, 1,2 million people from trachea, bronchus and lung cancer and 6000 people die of respiratory tracts illnesses.
On the threshold of World no Tobacco Day WHO calls countries and its partners for activation of measures against tobacco.
WHO calls for all countries struggling against tobacco epidemics by fully implementing the Framework Convention on fighting against tobacco and “MPOWER” policy which is recommended by the organization. The examples are lowering the rush for tobacco by increasing taxes, creating no tobacco places and other methods for stopping smoking.
We all know the harms of tobacco to our health. Smoking tobacco is the main reason for obstructive chronic illness of respiratory tracts. In this case the purulent fluid in lungs leads to strong coughs and worsening of breathing. The development of this illness is more common in people who start smoking at young ages and in those who are passively exposed to smoking, since tobacco makes the growth of lungs slower.
Tobacco is the main reason of lung cancer and two thirds of deaths from lung cancer occurs from it. The passive influence of tobacco at home, at work or in other places can higher the risks of lung cancer. The refuse to smoke can make the chances of coming down with lung cancer slimmer. After 10 years of quitting smoking, the risk of developing lung cancer is twice as low as that of a smoker.
Tobacco worsens the asthma, lowers activeness and can lead to invalidity. Quitting smoking is the effective method for fighting against respiratory tracts illnesses and asthma. The smoke of tobacco pollutes the air inside the room. It contains 7000 chemicals, 69 of which can lead to cancer. Smoke is invisible and is in the air for 5 hours.
May the souls of people be full of joy and appreciation at each day of the Prosperous Epoch of the Powerful State under the wise leadership of our national Leader!
