SPORT AS A FOUNDATION FOR HEALTH AND UNITY: TURKMENISTAN CELEBRATES WORLD HEALTH DAY
From April 1 to April 7, 2026, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a series of sport events dedicated to World Health Day. The week-long celebration culminated today in a mass cycling rally in the capital. Students and faculty members of our Institute took an active part in this grand event, led by the esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The organization of such large-scale initiatives reflects the growing popularity of a healthy lifestyle in our country. For the younger generation, who devote most of their time to intellectual labor, cycling serves as an effective way to maintain physical activity and strengthen overall health.
As part of the festive week, the Primary Trade Union Organization of the Institute initiated mass competitions under the motto “A Break from Gadgets”. The goal of this event was to draw the attention of young people to the culture of electronic device usage, the prevention of digital addiction, and the promotion of active leisure activities that contribute to the physical and mental well-being of future international specialists.
Students from all faculties participated in the competitions with great enthusiasm, demonstrating solidarity and sportsmanship. The mass cycling rally and sports tournaments have become a vivid testimony to the unity and cohesion of our people, as well as Turkmenistan’s commitment to the principles of peace, creativity, and the harmonious development of the individual.
